Tween 40 also known as polyoxyethylene sorbitan monopalmitate, is a kind of yellow to amber oily liquid (become gel after placed); it is soluble in water, ethanol, methanol, ethyl acetate and acetone and other organic solvents, while insoluble in plant oil and mineral oil; the relative density is 1.05 ~ 1.10, HLB value is 15.6.
TWEEN 40 Applications
Tween 40 is a kind of O/W emulsifier, it is widely used as emulsifier, solubilizer, stabilizer and dispersing agent; it is used as antistatic agent and fiber lubricant agent for the textile industry; and used as emulsifier for food and cosmetic industry; it is also used as emulsifying agent, softening agent and lubricating agent for synthetic fiber oil products.
