Span 20 also known as sorbitan laurate, is a kind of amber to brown oily liquid at room temperature, it is non-toxic, odorless, and sticky normally; only a small amount can be dissolved in oil and organic solvent, insoluble in water, will be dispersed in water as a semi liquid emulsion.
SPAN 20 Applications
Span 20 mainly used as W/O emulsifier, stabilizer, lubricants, plasticizers and desiccant in medical and cosmetic industry, also used as softening agent, antistatic agent in textile industry, and can be used as lubrication agent in machinery etc.
